Cerpen Bahasa Inggris - Friends Never Lie

In a Senior High School, there were four students who have been friends since they were in Junior High School. Those students’ names were Alexandria, Senecca, Lindsay, and Angelica.

One day, when they were in 2^th grade in Senior High School, there were three new friends that came from other class. They were Carmen, Jean, and Nelly.  Because Alexandria and friends were kind girls, they wanted to be Carmen, Jean, and Nelly’s friends.

When the break time came, they approached Carmen, Jean, and Nelly. They talked with them. They felt that Carmen, Jean, and Nelly were good girls.

But, a few months after that, there was an event that made Alexandria and Lindsay very shocked. Unintentionally Alexandria and Lindsay heard Carmen, Jean, and Nelly were gossiping. Because of vexed, Alexandria and Lindsay hid and heard their gossip.

Alexandria and Lindsay heard Carmen talked about almost all people in her class. They talked about all people’s bad habits. Even, they also talked about Alexandria, Lindsay, Angelica, and Senecca’s bad habits. Whereas, they have been Carmen, Jean, and Nelly’s friends, those bad habits were not true.

In the next day, Alexandria and Lindsay informed Angelica and Senecca that Carmen, Jean, and Nelly weren’t good girls.

“Angel, Sen, I think it’s better for you to leave Carmen, Jean, and Nelly. They obviously aren’t good girls. They like to talk about other person,” said Lindsay. “Ah, I don’t believe it. It’s very impossible if they’re as bad as what you said,” Senecca said. “You are surely slandering them. You are surely jealous because their scores are better than you!” said Angelica. “No! This is real! I’m not lying! Lindsay and I heard it yesterday!” Alexandria said. “I don’t believe that!” said Angelica. Then, they left Lindsay and Alexandria. “Ah, they’re obstinate!” said Lindsay.

From that moment, their friendship became estranged. Although they were still together, Alexandria and Lindsay always leave Senecca and Angelica if Carmen, Jean, and Nelly came. Alexandria and Lindsay didn’t want to be Carmen’s, Jean’s, and Nelly’s friends anymore. Senecca and Angelica still didn’t believe that Carmen, Jean and Nelly were as bad as Alexandria and Lindsay said.

One day, after school, Senecca and Angelica heard Carmen, Jean, and Nelly when they were gossiping. “Hey, Angelica is fussy, isn’t she?” said Nelly. “Yes, she often talked without stopping,” Jean said. “Senecca is curious too,” said Carmen. “She is…”

Angrily, Angelica and Senecca left them. “What Lindsay and Alexandria said about them was right. They like to talk about all things that is not right!” said Senecca. “I regret for not believing them,” said Angelica. “Yeah, I feel the same way with you. Tomorrow we’ll be on good terms with Alexandria and Lindsay,” Senecca said.

In the next day, Angelica and Senecca met Lindsay and Alexandria to invite them to repair their friendship. “Lind, Lex, we want to say sorry for not believing you,” said Senecca. “Yes, and now, we know that they aren’t good girls.” Angelica said. “Yeah, we forgive you,” said Alexandria and Lindsay together.
